Are you looking for more cdramas like Never-Ending Summer? Well, you are not alone, because people have fallen in love with the story that combines first love, hurt family relationships, emotional longing, and reunion drama. For me, what makes it addictive is how it strikes that perfect balance between romance and deep topics like familial scars, loneliness, rejection, and how much an individual can affect another’s life.
The drama 炽夏 is not just a love story involving Zhou Wan and Lu Xixiao; rather, it is also a story of finding solace in someone despite the world trying to make it as hard as possible. With the amazing chemistry between Bao Shang En and Daniel Zhou, it’s no wonder that this show is being talked about everywhere.

Waiting for the next episode meant I spent my time looking for other cdramas such as Never-Ending Summer, that would provide me with that rush of emotions I was getting from the show. These five dramas are perfect for people who want their hearts to melt with yearning, first love, and reconnections.
Cdramas Like Never-Ending Summer
The First Frost
When it comes to a drama that would instantly pop into my mind while watching this romantic drama, it would definitely be The First Frost. With Bai Jingting and Zhang Ruonan as the leads of the show, this drama shows a tale of how bittersweet it can be for two people who have been separated but have been unable to get each other out of their minds.
The thing I like the most is the fact that in both dramas, the female protagonists bear the burden of emotional wounds inflicted on them by hard family circumstances. This is not only a love story but also a story of healing the emotional wounds of the past. Just like the females, the males are equally dedicated to their cause, and this makes every meeting an incredibly gratifying experience for them.
Exclusive Fairytale
Featuring members of the K-pop boy group SEVENTEEN, Jun and Zhang Miaoyi, Exclusive Fairytale is an amusing yet equally enchanting story about coming of age and falling in love. The drama centres around childhood sweethearts Ling Chao and Xiao Tu, whose love blossoms in a natural way.
While it doesn’t rely on angst as strongly, it holds that same appreciation for deep connections and significant teenage moments. Seeing the main characters experience their teenage years together brought back memories of what I like about coming-of-age romances. If you’re in the mood for something a little sweeter but still romantic, this series is perfect.

You Are Desire
If you wish to seek a drama with such a tone of yearning, emotional fragility, etc., then You Are Desire should be one of your prime choices. Starring Zhou Yiran and Sabrina Zhuang, the cdrama is the story of two young people, navigating through the challenges of life in their families, and slowly becoming each other’s haven.
It is quite apparent from the way the stories are told emotionally. In both of these stories, there are characters who are bearing burdens that hinder them from fully trusting others, but eventually, they find solace in a person who understands them well. The love develops gradually to enable people to be invested in each phase of their development. This movie gives me the same feeling that I have been having this year.
Our Secret
Few teenage romantic dramas that I have seen have been able to touch my heart like Our Secret. Rainbow Xu and Chen Zheyuan perform wonderfully in the roles of Ding Xian and Zhou Si Yue, who develop an interesting relationship as classmates and friends. They get closer and more intimate over time without any grand gestures.
It is precisely for this reason that the admirers of the love story between Zhou Wan and Lu Xixiao will also be easily captivated by this work. In both works, the creators have realised that sometimes all that is required is an ordinary chat or a meaningful look in order to convey emotions better than big romantic gestures.

Le Coup de Foudre
A romantic tale from real life, Le Coup de Foudre is an account of the bond between Janice Wu and Zhang Yujian, who, despite being separated and the various difficulties associated with maturing, have managed to keep their bond alive. Their journey starts in their childhood days in school, before life pulls them in different directions.
The reason why this is such an ideal suggestion to watch is because the drama is all about enduring love. In a similar vein to the current trend that’s taking over today, it’s about how some emotions never really die off, even if there have been many years separating the two people involved. It’s touching and incredibly satisfying.
But as you wait for the next episode to premiere, here are the names of the series that I would recommend to anyone who wants more cdramas similar to Never-Ending Summer. But I’m not responsible if you find yourself watching all five!
