Korean horror stories are making waves again, but this time the frenzy is all about the upcoming film 군체, which has just made its way to the silver screen courtesy of director Yeon Sang-ho. Renowned for creating emotionally charged disaster movies that have become global sensations via films such as Train to Busan and Hellbound, the director is coming back with yet another terrifying movie that combines science, survival, and humanity. Colony Korean Movie Plot
Korean Film Colony will revolve around a biotechnology conference taking place in the Dunguri Building, which soon becomes a place of total pandemonium due to the accidental release of a strange virus that infects people and causes them to undergo a series of bizarre mutations. While authorities work hard to isolate the whole zone, the people trapped in it become helpless victims of the virus, facing not only the infected but also the horror of being locked up in an area that has turned into a battlefield.
At the heart of the story is Kwon Se-jeong, a character who suddenly finds herself one of the few people who can begin to comprehend the developing infection. In her search for ways to stay alive, she starts noticing frightening patterns in the behaviour of the infected individuals, getting closer to the truth of what happened.
Instead of relying solely on jump scares, Colony seems to be a zombie film that derives its horror from suffocating tension, emotional turmoil, and the sheer unpredictability of surviving a catastrophe.

Korean Movie Colony Release Date
After its premiere at Cannes, the zombie movie Colony is set to be released in a big way in many countries. Its date of release in South Korean theatres has been fixed for May 21, 2026. The Indian release of the movie is set to be on June 19, whereas the North American release of the movie is set to be on August 28.
Some other dates for international release of the movie include May 22 for Taiwan and Malaysia, May 27 for France, Singapore, and the Philippines, and June 11 for Australia and New Zealand. Its release in Japanese theatres is expected to take place sometime in the year 2027.
Though many other release dates remain confidential, the worldwide release of the movie in 124 countries speaks volumes about the interest generated in it internationally.
