The Husband Episode 3 Recap
Episode 3 of The Husband starts off by going back in time when things were better for Tae-ju and Se-yun. Their wedding day is full of happiness and warmth because of their real love and affection for each other, which contrasts greatly with their situation now. Then the flashbacks lead to the event that brought such a huge change into their lives. When their daughter gets into a very tragic accident, Se-yun tries to reach out to her husband to help her because she needs him to do the operation on their daughter himself. But he fails to arrive, and the girl dies. And from this point, Se-yun starts hating her husband.
In the present, however, Tae-ju still undergoes questioning at the hands of the police and maintains that some individual is trying to frame him for the crime. According to Tae-ju, the bloodstained coat found in his car, and the image of Se-yun strapped to a chair are part of a conspiracy while Tae-ju was unconscious due to being assaulted. It so happens that during his interrogation, Tae-ju experiences a sudden nosebleed and is led out, but ends up meeting a strange man. The man informs Tae-ju that he knows that he is innocent of all charges and only has one request—that he must get to Shinyu-dong by 11 o’clock; otherwise, Tae-ju will never see Se-yun alive again.

In secret, the stranger pulls the plug on the police station and enables Tae-ju to flee amidst the chaos. The detectives go after him at once and pursue him as he climbs down the exterior of the building. In the meantime, Se-yun wakes up in the hideout of the abductor. He stays remarkably calm, going about his business and making her aware that time is ticking. Rather than disclosing his reasons, he asks her to pray and walks off, thereby showing another facet of his life when he goes to his job as a computer academy teacher using surveillance cameras.
When she is being held captive, Se-yun begins to converse with a fellow hostage known as Lee Seon-ja. The lady thinks that she is getting punished for her own sins and discloses that her husband had given up on rescuing her. Listening to the tragic tale told by Seon-ja makes Se-yun more determined to live than ever before. She uses the liquid from the medicine that the kidnapper had left behind to break her chain.

In the meantime, Tae-ju goes to the hospital to steal some medical equipment, surgical instruments, and medication as he steals a car from his colleague. The police are fast on his trail, setting off yet another wild ride for the fugitive. Meanwhile, Tae-ju makes contact with his family members, assures his mother of his innocence, and tells her that he will free Se-yun, whatever the circumstances may be. Two such climactic events happen in the last part of the episode. While Tae-ju is involved in a wild escapade resulting in a car crash, Se-yun breaks down her locked door using the chain and electricity in her jail in The Husband kdrama episode 3.
The Husband Episode 4 Recap
The Husband Episode 4 starts with yet another insight into the past life of Tae-ju and Se-yun. Prior to the total collapse of their marriage, Se-yun was aware of the aloofness of her husband. He used to return home very late and was always making excuses about work while ignoring his wife’s increasing apprehensions. Se-yun knew there was more behind the scenes, yet to be unravelled.

Back to the part where Tae-ju has escaped from prison. Even though he is trapped by some policemen, he manages to slip out through the alleys. In the scuffle, a policeman is seriously wounded. Rather than leaving the policeman on his own, Tae-ju treats him right away and calls an ambulance even as he takes away the policeman’s weapon and escapes. Again, his actions put him in a grey area between being a criminal and being a caring doctor.
In another place, Se-yun manages to get out of her room and tries to save Seon-ja, yet her freedom ends up being just for a short period because the kidnapper manages to catch her and knock her down, putting her back in the same place. Meanwhile, Tae-ju is finally able to meet the strange man who helped him escape from prison. His name is Su-hyeong, and he was once a detective whose wife disappeared under conditions very much like Se-yun’s case. He says that he has been working on the same criminal for several years, and now they have the same goal.

The duo finds more clues to indicate that the kidnapper has been kidnapping people for years now. Su-hyeong makes Tae-ju realise that the only way he could proceed with the search for his wife was to retrieve the money. Tae-ju thus goes to confront the parents of Se-yun in their own home, armed with the weapon, but continues to tell them that she is alive despite the desperate attempt, which doesn’t convince anyone and ends up being arrested by the police soon after taking the money. Even Detective Do-sik starts having doubts about Tae-ju’s belief that his wife can be saved.
Episode 4 of The Husband keeps getting darker. Se-yun wakes up beside Seon-ja again and sees the gruesome sight of how the kidnapper kills the woman in cold blood right before her eyes. Far from crushing her spirit, the death makes Se-yun angrier as she confronts her abductor head-on.

On the other hand, while Tae-ju and Su-hyeong keep investigating their case, they uncover important pieces of evidence in connection with some previous abduction cases. The final scenes of The Husband kdrama ep 4 feature a shocking cliffhanger. While Se-yun tries to find another means of escaping, the footage of her being watched by the security camera gets cut off, and Tae-ju shows up on the screen instead.
The Husband Episode 3-4 Review
This week’s episodes of The Husband Korean drama serve to clear a lot of things regarding Tae-ju and Se-yun’s divorce. Before now, it had been very easy to imagine that Tae-ju was just a non-participatory husband. However, the flashbacks serve to show that his actions are a little bit deeper than anyone could think at first glance. While the series does not excuse his faults, it serves to provide very good insights into why they have both carried a lot of pain within themselves. In addition, the kidnapping storyline becomes a little bit more serious as other people become involved.

Namkoong Min also continues his top-notch acting as always in the series. He successfully combines desperate, smart, and guilty aspects of Tae-ju and makes every step realistic, regardless of whether it is running away. Lee Seol also proves her strong acting skills since Se-yun never gives up despite all her problems and shows that she is not a weak character at all. Kim Dae-myung immediately creates an interesting character out of Su-hyeong, and additional characters such as Detective Do-sik or Se-yun’s parents help to make this drama as interesting from the emotional as well as from the investigative side.
The most interesting thing about this is that, unlike the other dramas, in which each mystery is answered by solving another, these episodes have managed to replace a single mystery with numerous others. Who is actually assisting the abductor? Can Su-hyeong be completely trusted? And what were the secrets of Tae-ju prior to the death of his daughter? There is also a suspicion cast on the part of the nurse, making it seem like an affair, but the writers just want to confuse us.
