8 Best Kpop Debut of 2024: TWS, BABYMONSTER, izna and More

2024 new K-pop debuts are something I have never expected and some of them are simply mind-blowing. Best Kpop Debut of 2024 has shown us everything, from amazing vocal bands to stage performance innovative bands, Kpop scene of the year has been quite lively. For art enthusiasts such as myself, these names should be saved on your list of artists to watch. Below are my top favorite Kpop debuts of 2024 which made me push the replay button on my music player. Let’s dive in!

Best Kpop Debut of 2024

TWS

TWS captured my attention instantly. Under Pledis Entertainment and a sub-label of Hybe Labels Corporation, they have been called “SEVENTEEN’s Juniors” and tbh, they have proven that monicker to be completely accurate. Their pre-debut single Oh Mymy: 7 It was such a treat to see ‘7” happy, charming, and showing off those pipes they’ve been working on.

However, it was Sparkling Blue – their first album – that made a definite impression on me and that is when I could officially say I loved the band. Songs such as “Last Bell” were adorable, and very catchy; they simply nailed the dance moves. Their follow up mini album “summer beat!” continued that run. What makes TWS different from other new rookie groups out there, they are creating a new paradigm.

ILLIT

Alright, I get that there was a lot of debate about whether ILLIT had some similarities to NewJeans but let’s leave that discussion for now. They are really good at that; these girl are not just good, they are seriously talented. Emerging from the JTBC survival show R U Next?, Belift Lab’s first act arrived on the scene with their debut album entitled Super Real Me.

I’ll start with the obvious: Magnetic, the title track, the chorus is catchy – you know those songs that get stuck in your head? Its follow up mini album I’LL LIKE YOU wasn’t totally the advancement but it had potential. Of course, the members could still use some singing lessons but clearly, they are talented. It makes me excited to see what these folks are going to do next.

BABYMONSTER

I just love BABYMONSTER, they might just be one of my top favourites this year. These girls are singers, rappers, and dancers all in one you could ask for. Sorry for being such a hater. But I do have a problem with YG Entertainment.

This year seems like they’ve been forcing it in terms of marketing and managing them as the next BLACKPINK or 2NE1, but these girls should be allowed to create their own path. Songs like “Sheesh” and “Like That” were good and served passable but boy, they sounded far too TikTok-y. However, their full-length album Drip really proved what they’re capable of as a group. YG just give them better songs and I have no doubt, they will rule the whole 2025 music industry.

ARTMS

For me who have been a fan of LOONA for a long time, hearing about the debut of ARTMS was like a kind of dream. Their debut single Virtual Angel from their album DALL is all that I was expecting and much more. The old tune yet new song feel really got me this time, and the entire album was fantastic. These girls have always had great voices, and ARTMS is ensuring everyone knows that they are not going anywhere. I am so glad that they continue LOONA’s work but also establishing something that is furthermore their own.

Meovv

Well to be completely blunt, the first digital single that the group released, Meow did not particularly do much for me. Still, I was in for a big surprise when their album named TOXIC happened to drop in my hand and my belief can be well explained from the following lines. Songs such as Body and the title track seem to be the perfect opportunity for their voice and good dance moves. All I just hope is that The Black Label improves with their song selection because this group has so much potential. If they continue in with such efficiency Meovv could turn out to be a real game changer.

ALL(H)OURS

When ALL(H)OURS started with the song Gotcha, I was not completely convinced. Then they released Shock, okay, stop that song for one moment, that tune gave me a new perspective, I mean it really did. It was well fashioned and the song also was a hit. Like with most bands, it’s obvious that the guys in Eden Entertainment are not idle as they strive to polish their music projects, thus the suspense. These are probably one of those groups to watch out in the near tomorrow.

izna

As someone who watched I-LAND 2: N/A religiously, izna’s debut seemed to be close to home. Yes, I was a bit let down when FUKO failed to make a lineup but the debut mini-album ‘N/A’ with the title track ‘izna’ of this group really melted my sorrow away. These seven members have such great synergy and actually have so much potential it’s not even funny. I would love to know how they would have advanced in the year 2025.

NOWADAYS

What a relief it is to encounter NOWADAYS nowadays! Debuting with 5 members under CUBE Entertainment, this boy group released their single album titled NOWADAYS and I’ve quickly formed a liking towards them. They come from a large pool of talent because of their passionate lyrics and great stage energy. If you consider searching for a group possessing a true artists’ potential, NOWADAYS is the name to look up to.

Special Mentions

Katseye

There is no doubt that Katseye targets a global audience. Their first released single was entitled Debut, with their follow-up extended play record titled SIS (Soft Is Strong) which featured a powerful voice and impressive dancing. They clearly demonstrated that at the MAMA Awards; I still listen to songs Debut on repeat.

Big Ocean

Big Ocean has been created as the first K-pop band where all its members are the deaf. Their single “Glow” along with an EP called Follow and both are breathtaking and sincere. They also employ sign languages such as KSL, ASL, as well as ISL which makes them quite special and diverse.
