Netflix Turkish series Thank You Next Season 3 continues Leyla’s tumultuous life as she faces the pain of broken relationships and the search for stable connections in her love life. As opposed to the earlier seasons, which were all about the glamour and toxic elements of romantic relationships, this season is quite heavy emotionally speaking and also very down-to-earth.
Of all things that I liked about this season, my favourite is the fact that the season focuses more on the emotional tolls that are brought by relationships and not just creating dramatic scenarios revolving around romantic stories to keep the viewers entertained. Leyla is no longer just suffering from bad dates; she is now emotionally drained because of all the things that she has gone through before. After the problems she encountered with Cem in the past season, she attempts to reconstruct herself while simultaneously exposing what has happened to her regarding his case.
Netflix’s Thank You Next Season 3 is all about Leyla’s struggle to find harmony between her personal life and chaotic emotions. It seems as if at some point she longs for serenity even more than for love. In this TV series, one can observe that she takes a break from everything and returns to Istanbul, but even after she gets back to her native place, her life goes through new emotional troubles. The most fascinating thing was how the series kept Leyla in such circumstances where she could not avoid her own emotions.
Ali introduces a new element in the story, although it is only temporary. Whereas the relationship with Cem introduced conflict, manipulation, and emotional stress into Leyla’s life, with Ali, it all seems different. They develop their relationship through normal conversation and by providing each other with comfort and emotional stability. I actually found these scenes to be my favourite in the entire season due to the realism and simplicity involved, in contrast to the chaos that the show usually exhibits. Ali wants a future with Leyla; he truly wants one with her, unlike her previous partners.
But the creators have wisely decided not to transform their love story into an ideal fairy tale. While their feelings are growing stronger, problems that belong to reality start creeping up on them. The career offer to Ali causes a serious emotional dilemma as they both have to consider what they really want out of life. What I enjoyed most about this episode is that it avoided creating any artificial evil. It focused more on the matter of time and self-growth. Sometimes you find a person you love very much, yet life decides to take you in opposite directions.
However, simultaneously, the storyline of Cem runs on in the background and actually becomes one of the darkest elements in the season. The investigation into Cem slowly unfolds, and the more it does, the more disturbing things we learn about his family and personal history. Spoilers aside, let’s just say the situation takes a dramatic turn for the worse and becomes far larger than simply a toxic relationship. The legal issues, secrets, and manipulations regarding Cem give an air of suspense to the entire season. It is when Leyla and her crew discover some disturbing information that makes me truly intrigued.

The reason why this story is exciting is that, although Cem is certainly one character who can be described as toxic and problematic, the Netflix series Thank You Next Season 3 manages to dive into the emotional complications that underlie his actions. In many moments, we see that Leyla understands how much damage he caused to her, yet emotionally speaking, she just cannot get over him. I believe that the show handles the issue of being attached emotionally very convincingly.
Regarding performance, Serenay Sarikaya again totally delivers the show. I don’t really think there’s anyone else who could have done that job as well as her. She has made the character of Leyla both annoying and realistic at the same time. There are times when I wish Leyla had acted wisely, but then again, I can sympathise with what she went through emotionally.
Fatih Artman was actually one of my favourites from this season. Ali is a character who adds a sense of peace to Leyla’s life after the turmoil she faced with her relationships. Fatih Artman has portrayed this character with much integrity and a lot of charisma. He is the kind of guy who doesn’t need to try very hard to make his way into everyone’s hearts because he just seems perfect as he is. The romantic chemistry with Serenay Sarikaya was beautiful, especially during their silent interactions.
Hakan Kurtas does well in his role of Cem, too. Although he sometimes manipulates and acts like a danger to others’ emotions, there is a power in his presence which makes him unmissable. On the other hand, Ali’s character offers a soothing touch to the season, making him a calming force within the story.
Netflix Thank You Next Season 3 Review: Summing Up
In conclusion, my opinion about Season 3 of Thank You Next is rather positive since this series does not concentrate too much on romantic issues and pays more attention to the emotional impact. The topics of loneliness, uncertainty, dependence, and break-up are discussed with surprising sincerity by the main characters of the series, making this story interesting to watch.
