Dear Hongrang totally swept us off our feet with its breathtaking cinematography and suspenseful storyline, demonstrating that historical dramas can be as addictive as contemporary dramas. Tastefully Yours, meanwhile, has us coming back every week, serving up a delicious combination of food, romance, and comedy that has us hungry for more.
Nine Puzzles bravely reoriented the thriller genre, with Kim Da-mi starring as a wonderfully unhinged detective who keeps us gripped. And in only two episodes, Our Unwritten Seoul has stolen our hearts with its cosy tone and promise of an emotionally moving journey ahead.
As we turn the page to June 2025, the anticipation is just building. The month is packed with triumphantly new tales that are just waiting to be unravelled, whether it’s dark revenge dramas and sweet romances or supernatural thrillers. While we don’t know where each of the stories will take us, one thing is for sure, Kdrama fans are in for another winner.
Exciting Kdramas Coming Out in June 2025
Mercy for None (광장)
One of the dramas we are eagerly anticipating premiering on Netflix on June 6 is Choi Sung-eun’s Mercy for None. The grim drama is a remake of the popular webtoon Plaza Wars by Oh Se-hyung and Kim Kyun-tae. So Ji-sub features Nam Gi-jun, a former gangster who had risen to the top ranks as a Bongsan Gang member.
Having made a sorrowful decision to save his little brother, Gi-jun abandoned gang life. Years later, his brother, a gang member of a different gang, was murdered in mysterious circumstances. With an excellent supporting cast that includes Huh Joon-ho, Ahn Kil-kang, Lee Bum-soo, Gong Myung, and Choo Young-woo, this show holds a thrilling examination of loyalty, revenge, and the past that will not disappoint.

A Woman Who Swallowed the Sun (태양을 삼킨 여자)
Premiering on 9th June on MBC, A Woman Who Swallowed the Sun is the uplifting story of Baek Seol-hui, a single mom with a sunny personality. Jang Shin-young conveys warmth in Seol-hui as she operates a small restaurant and coexists peacefully with her daughter.
But her quiet existence takes a turn after a dramatic shift when her daughter, the victim, is mistakenly accused as the offender. Seol Kyung-eun helms the drama starring Seo Ha-joon, Yoon Ah-jung, and Oh Chang-seok. The drama seems to be headed towards delving into a mother’s determination to defend her child, and at what cost justice.
The First Night with the Duke (남주의 첫날밤을 가져버렸다)
First Night With The Duke is a fantasy romance drama series from Hwang Do-tol’s web novel and is broadcast on KBS on Wednesdays and Thursdays starting June 11. The drama was directed by Lee Woong-hee and starred Seo Hyun as a university student who finds herself somehow trapped inside her favourite historical romance novel.
Now, under the guise of Cha Seon-chaek, a woman of noble blood, she finds herself quite unexpectedly spending a night with Prince Gyeong Seong, played by Ok Taec-yeon. But as it never does in the original book tale, especially when it comes to love taking its own course. Supporting the main cast are Kwon Han-sol, Seo Bum-june, and Ji Hye-won. This 12-episode drama weaves together fantasy, romance, and unforeseen destiny in a very interestingly different way.

Our Movie (우리 영화)
Starring Namkoong Min in the lead role as Lee Je-ha, a director-turned-celebrity who has not directed a movie in five years due to pressure to repeat his early success, Our Movie debuts on June 13 on SBS. The film features a story of redemption and healing through art.
He meets Lee Da-eum, played by Jeon Yeo-been, a budding actress battling a rare disease. The drama is helmed by Lee Jung-heum and written by Han Ga-eun and Kang Gyeong-min, with Seo Hyeon-woo and Lee Seol in support. As the two collaborate on a film on finite time and love, their lives—and heartbeat—begin to change.

Hunter with a Scalpel (메스를 든 사냥꾼)
June 16th broadcast on U+ Mobile TV and Disney+ Hotstar, Hunter with a Scalpel is a crime thriller unlike any other. Park Ju-hyun stars in the complex role of Seo Se-byeon, a genius forensic examiner with antisocial personality disorder.
Directed by Lee Jung Hoon and based on the novel by Choi Yi-do, the drama follows Seo Se-hyeon as she battles an unseen enemy from her past—a ghost of a father whom she had killed. Starring Park Yong-woo and Kang Hoon, this 16-episode drama teases a spine-tingling mixture of mystery, trauma, and reality.
I Am a Running Mate (러닝메이트)
Airing on June 19 on TVING, I Am a Running Mate is a satirical political school comedy-drama. Yoon Hyun-soo stars as No Se-hun, a model student who is given a degrading nickname after a bus accident.
Written and directed by Han Jin-won with writer Oh Do-gun, the film goes on as Se-hun is asked to serve as a running mate in the school election, but not as he would have imagined. Starring Lee Jung-sic, Choi Woo-sung, and Kim Ji-woo, the coming-of-age film will attempt to find its way through pride, friendship, and the ways to leadership not considered.

Head Over Heels (견우와 선녀)
Beginning June 23, tvN’s Head Over Heels is based on the webtoon Gyeonuwa Seonnyeo by An Su-min. Starring Cho Yi-hyun as high school student Park Seong-a with a secret life as shaman Fairy Cheon Ji, it is under the direction of Kim Yong Wan.
As she encounters Bae Gyeon-u, played by Choo Young-woo, her hidden crush turns into a mission when she finds out he is fated to die. With a magical, mystical turn and a wonderful casting of Cha Kang-yoon and Choo Ja-hyun, the drama appears to combine youth romance and fantasy and destiny.
Squid Game Season 3 (오징어게임 시즌3)
The eagerly awaited Squid Game returns for its third and last season on June 27 under the creative direction of Hwang Dong-hyuk. Lee Jung-jae returns as Gi Hun, Player 456, at his lowest after a series of failed attempts to eliminate the killer game.
With fewer characters, increased stakes, and darker secrets, this six-episode finale will bring high-octane action, moral dilemma creation, and a face-off between Gi Hun and the enigmatic Frontman. While the fans are preparing for destruction, we’re all hoping for redemption—or revenge.
Love Phobia (러브 포비아)
Releasing on June 27, Love Phobia is a mix of technology, trauma, and love that is being broadcast on U+ Mobile TV. Wang Hye-ryung is the director of the series whose cast features Yeon Woo as Yun Bi-a, a developer of a VR dating app who ironically has a phobia against love, and Kim Hyun-jin as Han Seon-ho, a writer who never knows how to recognize feelings.
Starring Choi Byung-chan and Jo Yoon-seo, this eight-episode drama unfolds the possibility of how emotionally scarred individuals are also capable of falling in love in the most unexpected manner. With a touch of contemporary technology and tear-jerking drama, this drama is capable of touching anyone who has ever feared loving someone.
These nine K-dramas releasing in June 2025 will provide the audience with a combination of genres and emotional experiences to look forward to. We don’t yet know how all these stories are going to turn out, but one thing is for sure—Kdrama fans are in for a rollercoaster ride this month.
