6 Must-Watch BL Dramas Like Revenged Love with the Same Enemies-to-Lovers Spark

Chinese BL dramas are rare to come by, but every once in a while, one arrives that completely captures our hearts. That’s what 逆爱 did. Based on the web novel Counter Attack by Chai Ji Dan, the series just concluded, and in good faith, it has left me with such an emptiness because it gave us all romance, comedy, drama, and that poisonous enemies-to-lovers tension that you just can’t get enough of and want to binge-watch in one sitting. And as always, when I finished it, I was on the search for BL Dramas Like Revenged Love that would give me the same butterflies.

What is fantastic about this show is how it manages to balance comedy and revenge drama. It takes a preposterous premise, one man attempting to seduce another man for revenge purposes only, and somehow makes it both emotionally resonant and funny. Su Wei and Chi Cheng bumbling their schemes and inadvertently falling in love was a sloppy, messy trip, but one that was so worth it because it never did get too heavy.

On top of that is the cast, who nailed their performances to perfection. Zi Yu and Tian Xu Ning’s on-screen chemistry was so raw and real, and the tension between lovers, friends, and foes was utterly immersive. The back and forth, the misunderstandings, the messy half-love triangle, it was all part of a new and unexpected story. Seriously, it reminded me why I had been so missing Chinese Boy Love shows lately. And if you’ve been patiently waiting for BL Dramas similar to Revenged Love, here are six recommendations that will give you the same blend of love, rivalry, and heart.

Must-Watch BL Dramas Like Revenged Love

Love Mechanics

Love Mechanics is a Thai BL about the intricacy of relationships, misunderstandings, and second chances. It’s about Mark, a university student who gets entangled in the emotional mess when he spends a night of passion with Vee, a senior who is already entangled in a complicated relationship. The drama is jealousy, broken hearts, and the search for true love in complicated beginnings. Starring Yin Anan Wong and War Wanarat Rungdham, whose chemistry keeps the tension brewing throughout.

This drama has the same level of chaos and unpredictability as Revenged Love Cdrama. It is not a fluffy rom-com—there are errors, break-ups, and tension, but these are all done within the confines of emotional storytelling that will be able to catch you. The push-and-pull and the eventual vulnerability of the leads give that same rollercoaster experience that fans of BL Dramas will totally love.

We Best Love: No. 1 For You

This Taiwanese BL is a rivals-to-lovers, and as such, it is a great option. Zhou Shu Yi (Sam Lin) has always lived in the shadow of academic rival Gao Shi De (Yu). For years, Shu Yi believed he was finally rid of Shi De, only to find that they’d both applied to the same university. Their dynamic gradually shifts from rivals to something else, something loving, and surprisingly sweet.

I enjoyed this drama due to the mix of competition and love. There are tons of angst-ridden enemies-to-lovers tension, but there’s actual sweetness and heartwarming moments to counteract the angst. This is light but emotionally weighty, and it makes a love story that is well-earned. For fans looking for BL Dramas with the Enemies to Lovers Trope like Revenged Love, this is a must-watch.

Semantic Error

This Korean BL that took the fandom by storm, Semantic Error, features an artsy free spirit and a no-nonsense computer science major. Park Seo-ham leads as Jang Jae-young, the handsome design student whose life plans are derailed unexpectedly by Choo Sang-woo (Park Jae-chan), a quiet and serious programmer. What begins as annoyance and sabotage eventually becomes attraction and undeniable chemistry.

The reason I’d recommend it is because the sparks between the leads are electric. Their bickering is authentic, their grudging respect builds so well, and the romantic payoff is so rewarding. Much like Cdrama Revenged Love, this show lives so much on contrast—serious vs carefree, calculated vs impulsive—and it’s precisely that contrast of personalities that makes it such a joy to watch.

Not Me

A darker Thai BL, Not Me is a political, action, romantic twist package. Off Jumpol and Gun Atthaphan star in a twin, identity-swapping, undercover story. Black is a rogue anti-corruptionist, and his twin White gets pulled into his life of danger and ends up involved with Sean, one of Black’s best friends.

What I like is that it gives BL some actual grit. The storylines are more complicated with rebellion, betrayal, and emotional stakes, but the emotional centre is preserved because the chemistry between Gun and Off is good. It is not as funny as the Cdrama, but it meets that desire for gritty, multi-faceted storytelling where love grows in the midst of chaos.

My Enemy Has a Crush on Me

This Chinese BL appears to have been produced exclusively for fans of enemies-to-lovers. Fu Ci (Wang Yu Wei) and Jiang Nai (Bao Li Ning) have been childhood rivals, and now, as grown adults, they are rivals to receive the same promotion at the workplace. A love confession failure turns their circumstances upside down, and they must contend with the feelings they refuse to acknowledge.

My favourite part of this one is how natural it feels in its presentation. The miscommunication never feels forced, the feud never feels staged, and the romance develops in a way that never feels staged. And the production is solid, with seamless transitions and gorgeous photography. It’s one of those dramas that the plot never deviates from the leads, and the co-workers simply augment it. For those still holding out for the special chemistry of BL Dramas such as Revenged Love, this is one to add to your list right away.

Bad Buddy

One of the best Thai enemy-to-lovers series, Bad Buddy stars Ohm Pawat and Nanon Korapat as childhood neighbours who came to despise each other since their families were constantly at war. What starts out as rivalry eventually turns into a secret romance, offering a tasty blend of forbidden love and banter.

Bad Buddy is light but also emotional. The leads have some of the most solid on-screen chemistry, and the way they go from being enemies to being in love is as cute as it is fun. If you liked the mix of comedy and romance in Revenged Love, this one delivers it in spades. It’s chatty, it’s sweet, and it’s so binge-watchable.
