Kdramas Releasing in July 2025: If June 2025 was peak K-drama season for you, you were not alone in thinking this. Genre-bending hits such as Mercy For None, a dark, noir revenge epic set against the debased world of Korean gang politics, and Our Unwritten Seoul, a quietly searing story of twin sisters who swap lives in a bid to escape their own brutal lives, this month punched us emotionally and cinematically.

Nine Puzzle was a thriller of suspense that had viewers on the edge of their seats, and Oh My Ghost Clients was a blend of supernatural justice served with a side of labour rights. From tear-jerking stories to genre-bending narratives, June provided K-drama viewers with more than enough reasons to keep their eyes glued to their screens.

But July 2025 is no slacker, either. The buzz is also generating around Law and the City as Lee Jong-suk is making his return to the small screen after Big Mouth. Bitch x Rich Season 2 is highly anticipated as well, after its cult-hit first season established a heady blend of dark academia and teen social warfare. And then there’s S Line, a stylish, tautly drawn drama that screened at the Cannes International Series Festival 2025 and where it won the Best Music Award– bringing high expectations even before it hit the home audience. With this monster lineup inbound, the July schedule is already looking to be just as unforgettable.

Bitch x Rich Season 2 (청담국제고등학교 시즌2)

Back on July 3, 2025 and up until August 1, the melodrama welcomes us back to Cheongdam International High School, where beneath the tidy coiffures of these lives are secrets for these high school girls. Season 2 is helmed by Im Dae-woong, picking up on the heels of a first season that was full of drama, with Kim Hye-in (Lee Eun-saem) and Baek Je-na (Ye Ri) again at odds as queens of the school jungle.

Stakes are higher this year, but with new politics of power, deception, and a mysterious new figure in town, no one has any idea who the final winner will be. Calling on their power are the likes of Seo Do-eon (Lee Jong-hyuk), Park U-jin, and return-last-year Kim Hae-in, so dark secrets and teen thriller lovers won’t be let down by this one.

Law and the City (서초동)

The drama sees Lee Jong-suk back on the small screen playing An Ju-hyeong, a cold but scheming character who is an associate of the Johwa Law Firm. Park Seung-woo directed the drama, which explores both courtroom battles and personal traumatic moments.

Airing from July 5, 2025, to August 10 on Disney+, the drama also stars Mun Ka-young, who plays Kang Hui-ji, a lovely young lawyer who is confident that each case has the potential to change a person’s life. Supporting actors are Kang You-seok, Ryu Hye-young and Im Sung-jae as office mates, as it depicts the highs and lows of office relationships through food, friendships and moral dilemmas. Warmth contrasts with biting narration in this new style of law.

S Line (S라인)

This six-episode thriller was adapted from Little Bee’s webtoon and was directed by Ahn Joo-young and released on July 11, 2025. S Line is a tale of a world where a red line suddenly appears in the sky that connects an individual to his or her sex partner.

Lee Soo-hyuk plays Han Ji-uk, a detective who won’t rest until he gets to the bottom of this phenomenon. He’s helped by Lee Da-hee as Gyu Jin, a resourceful teacher, and A Rin as Hyun Heup, a child who’s heard these words his whole life. With a one hell of an idea and Cannes-winning Best Music, S Line is strange and provocative.

Low Life (파인)

Releasing from July 16 to August 13, 2025, on Disney+, Low Life is a raw, explosive 1970s survival saga of family, dreams, and survival. Low Life is written and directed by Kang Yoon-sung and is a story of uncle and nephew, Ryu Seung-ryong and Yang Se-jong, who take on a treasure hunt at the West Sea in a bid to flee their life of counterfeiting.

From the webtoon The Hooligans, Lim Soo-jung and Im Hyung-joon are added to the roster. It might be a dark, stomach-churning ride, one in which stakes are high and allegiances are tested.

The Nice Guy (착한 사나이)

Consisting of 14 episodes, this drama will begin on July 18 and air up to August 29, 2025. It is going to serve up a healthy dose of family, love and loyalty. Song Hae-sung directed and Kim Woon-kyung wrote The Nice Guy, which features Park Seok-cheol (Lee Dong-wook), the eldest grandson of a rough-around-the-edges clan, in a commentary on how the biggest thugs possess the softest hearts.

Alongside him is Lee Sung-kyung portraying Kang Mi-yeong, his singing protégée and first love. Seok-cheol struggles to rescue his family and woo, and Morris is put through twists and turns to secure real love, but there are plenty of heartwarming moments and character build-up to be expected as well. Supported by Ryu Hye-young and Oh Na-ra, it is perhaps the month’s most romantic program.

The Defects (아이쇼핑)

This suspense thriller is directed by Oh Ki-hwan and adapted from the webtoon Child Shopping. It follows Kim Se-hui (played by Yeom Jung-ah), a good doctor with a hidden agenda: she operates an illegal adoption ring because of a pretty gruesome set of laws.

The true curveball, however, is a character named Kim A-hyeon, played by Won Jin-a, who was able to survive under this broken system and is now leading other women like her into battle for justice. With DEX and Choi Young-joon completing the cast, this 8-episode series will be emotionally taxing, but powerful, and it is going to be released from July 21 to August 12, 2025.

Trigger (트리거)

Streaming on Netflix July 25, 2025, Trigger sweeps us unbridled into a South Korean black market flooded with guns. Written and directed by Kwon Oh-seung, the 10-episode thriller features Kim Nam-gil as Lee Do, a retired sniper turned detective who seeks to discover where the guns are originating. Kim Young-kwang plays the character of Moon Baek, a cool and calm arms dealer who never lets his wicked ambition escape even behind his good-hearted smile. With Woo Ji-hyun added to the cast, the action drama can be one of the most thrilling of the year.
