Agent Kim Reactivated Episode 7 Recap
In Episode 7 of Agent Kim Reactivated, viewers get an insight into Kim Do-hyeon’s past just a few days after Min-ji’s birth. Resolved to leave his life of crime behind, he insists on being discharged from the military even though he is aware of the implications of this decision. However, although his commanders concede to his demand, they already know that the country will one day need him. And they are proven right a few years down the road.

In the present, Kim still holds on to the Vice Minister as ransom while Min-ji successfully manages to reunite with her father. The four of them manage to escape the clutches of the SMD soldiers using the Vice Minister as their shield. Before leaving the hostage behind, Kim asks Sang-a to bring a prominent commander from the military to his place, thus signalling that he is prepared for whatever comes next. Despite being with her father, Min-ji’s joy lasts only for a short while before Ju Gang-chan orders his men to take them both into custody.
But within seconds, Agent Kim Reactivated episode 7 turns into yet another thrilling action scene where the vehicle belonging to the group is attacked by gigantic trucks. The sleeping gas gets inside the vehicle, making the entire team assume that the kidnapping was successful. But Kim and Han-su had been expecting this sort of thing and stayed awake to fight back ruthlessly. Jin-cheol also participates in the action scene once he regains consciousness. On the other hand, Kim chases a vehicle carrying Min-ji. But upon realising who the attackers are working for, Kim goes straight to Ju Gang-chan’s place.

Kim’s fight against Ju Gang-chan is perhaps one of the most memorable scenes of the kdrama Agent Kim Reactivated episode 7. Arrogant and audacious, Ju tries to recruit Kim but also threatens Min-ji, leaving no other option for Kim except to engage in yet another fight. Even Ju’s sword-fighting skill does not stand a chance against Kim’s willpower. When Kim was about to finish it all, Min-ji appears to stop him and makes him ask for something else but vengeance. Terrified, Ju has to apologise to Min-ji and Kim.
This episode ends on an emotional note as Kim prepares a last meal for Min-ji and softens up the story of his life, so that she is not aware of the harsh realities of his life. The tearful farewell scene of Kim and Min-ji ends as they vow to meet again before he goes to give himself up to the authorities. The most shocking turn comes at the end, as Kim wakes up in a North Korean prison.

Agent Kim Reactivated Episode 8 Recap
Agent Kim Reactivated Episode 8 opens up in the harsh interrogation room, in which Kim suffers torture for several days without divulging any of his secrets. The moment one of the soldiers tries to threaten Min-ji, Kim responds in kind to find out that he had been tested for his loyalty by South Korea all along. Mole Cricket, along with the military officials, makes it clear that they need him for one last mission and will give a new beginning to both Kim and Min-ji once their work is done.

Kim is finally convinced to accept the mission on the condition that two things are met. Min-ji has to stay safe, and both Han-su and Jin-cheol have to be freed. Eventually, the two wake up far away from home, leading to many lighter scenes where they try to get back to normal after all that they have been through. On the other hand, Ju Gang-chan tries to reconnect politically, having learned that Kim and Min-ji no longer exist according to official documents.
The core agenda of the kdrama episode 8 of Agent Kim Reactivated is based on the protection of an important official of the North who wants asylum in South Korea. This particular defector is found to be someone from Kim’s past, whose information might have a considerable effect on the current negotiations taking place between both countries. Kim protects him in a safe house, where Sang-a prepares for a dangerous task.

With tensions mounting internationally, opponents from both parties get closer to him. Political corruption, espionage, and betrayal all come together when Ju Gang-chan, working with officials from North Korea, tries to catch the defector before he reveals anything of military value. The situation gets worse for Kim when the attackers raid the house, and he uses the decoy plan where his men run through the woods while he escapes with the defector through a different way. After realising that the attackers had prior information on him, Kim starts suspecting that an informant is within SMD.
In the ending of episode 8 of Agent Kim Reactivated, the protagonist is seen having a new thrilling cliffhanger. Kim meets up with Han-su and Jin-cheol. The happiness doesn’t last for long because the Mole Cricket is seen coming with the SMD forces. Mole Cricket says that Kim was not successful in completing his assignment and thus, he will be returned to North Korea.

Agent Kim Reactivated Episode 7-8 Review
Episodes 7 and 8 have easily become my favourite episodes in the entire series up till now, as they provide a proper balance between the emotional side and the action part of the story. Episode 7 in particular really touched my heart. It was really moving to see Kim sitting down opposite Min-ji at the dining table and talking to her after all that they had been through. The conversation looked natural and genuine, and there was no dramatic talk; just a father spending time with his daughter before leaving forever.
The process itself was equally gratifying. The kidnapping scene was wonderfully done because it succeeded in fooling not only the bad guys but also me. Watching Kim, Han-su and Jin-cheol get the upper hand was extremely rewarding. But more rewarding was seeing Ju Gang-chan finally getting a taste of his own medicine. Being made to beg for forgiveness in front of Min-ji and Kim meant much more than beating him up.

On the other hand, Han-su and Jin-cheol yet again showed what makes them such great partners, with all their fighting scenes showing off different skills of different characters. However, episode 8 takes on politics in the storyline but does not lose the flow in doing so. I really enjoyed the way that the plot was broadened from being solely about revenge through bringing in the defected North Korean and making it known that the mission Kim is on is involved in a much larger struggle. With the introduction of a possible mole in SMD and the cliffhanger ending, the desire to keep watching was immediate.
In terms of performance, So Ji-sub keeps delivering everything with ease and manages to show both intimidating action scenes and heart-wrenching scenes without going overboard. The same is true for Seo Su-min and her character Min-ji, who seems to be more real than ever in her emotional reunion with her father.

The pairing of Choi Dae-hoon and Yoon Kyung-ho still manages to steal every single scene that they share on screen, managing to get the right amount of humour, devotion, and action in one take. Lastly, I would like to point out Joo Sang-wook, who managed to bring Ju Gang-chan to life in such a way that I actually like watching him.
