Kdramas Like In Your Radiant Season: As we are near the end of 찬란한 너의 계절에, I can’t help but think of a certain type of attachment, a type of attachment that very few dramas are capable of evoking. The drama series, in which Lee Sung-kyung plays the role of Song Ha-ran and Chae Jong-hyeop plays the role of Sunwoo Chan, revolves around the story of two people who have invisible scars on their own. Song Ha-ran, a designer, has locked herself away since some loss, and then there is Sunwoo Chan, an animator, who has a happy life on the outside, but has invisible scars of his own.
Their accidental meeting changes their lives not in any grand way, but through their presence, talks, and comfort, which seem so foreign to both of them. From the pain hidden behind their soft, sweet, and innocent smiles to their comfort in each other, as two broken people become a source of comfort for each other, everything is so sincere, so innocent, so full of life, and so full of a certain type of beauty, which is so hard to ignore.
Especially with their chemistry, which is so soft, so calm, so reassuring, and so addictive, with you looking forward to new episodes all week, not because of the cliffhanger aspect, but because these characters have become like a familiar routine, an escape from all the other things in life.

Perhaps this is the reason why these dramas stay with us. While they are not perfect, while they are slow at times, while they are somewhat predictable at times, they do get something right, and that something is important: not all stories have to be rushed. There are stories to be savoured in the small moments, in the small talk, in the moments where there is no talk at all. If this drama has touched you, made you feel seen, made you feel comforted, made you feel somewhat healed, then these six K-dramas similar to In Your Radiant Season will make you feel the ache, the ache that does not destroy but rebuilds.
Kdramas Like In Your Radiant Season That Are Must-Watch
Rain or Shine
There’s something very familiar about Rain or Shine when you have experienced the heartbreak in In Your Radiant Season. The story revolves around Lee Jun-ho and Won Jin-ah as they play the characters of Lee Kang-doo, a man who has lost a part of his life and his dreams due to a tragic accident involving a collapsed building, and Ha Moon-soo, another victim of the same accident who is a victim of trauma as well. Their lives cross once again when a new project comes up in their area.
As is the case with In Your Radiant Season, both characters are stuck in their respective lives and are living, not really existing. Their romance is not one born out of instant love, but one born out of companionship as they learn to live again with each other. Their shift from friends to lovers is accompanied by a level of sincerity, as every step in their lives is earned and not forced.
Encounter
Encounter, on first look, seems to have a brighter aesthetic, but emotionally, it is no different from In Your Radiant Season. The Kdrama stars Song Hye-kyo and Park Bo-gum, is about the life of Cha Soo-hyun, a CEO of a hotel who is emotionally closed off and is living a life she did not choose, and Kim Jin-hyuk, a young man who is carefree and only lives for the simple joys of life, and how these two characters meet while on a trip to Cuba.
The Kdrama follows a similar pattern to In Your Radiant Season in that the male character possesses a kind of warmth that helps break through the emotionally closed-off nature of the female character, and the female character is a kind of subdued version of herself due to her past experiences. The K-drama is not explosive but a gradual process, such as seeing a character learn how to feel without any fear.

Tell Me That You Love Me
In the drama Tell Me That You Love Me, which stars Jung Woo-sung and Shin Hyun-been, the emotional language is quite similar to that which is depicted in In Your Radiant Season, even if the words being expressed are few. The drama revolves around the character of Cha Jin-woo, a hearing-impaired painter who expresses himself not by words but by his paintings, and Jung Mo-eun, an aspiring actress who is trying to find her place in the world.
As is seen in the drama In Your Radiant Season, this drama is also a drama that is centered around the emotional relationship between the characters. It is not the plot of the drama that is being emphasised in this romance drama, but the way in which the characters are able to understand the unspoken words between them and find a new form of communication.
That Winter the Wind Blows
However, whereas In Your Radiant Season is like a soothing salve, That Winter, the Wind Blows provides a slightly different take on the theme of loneliness. The drama series starring Jo In-sung and Song Hye-kyo. It is the story of Oh Soo, a scam artist who pretends to be the long-lost brother of Oh Young, a blind heiress who is forced to grow up in solitude because she was abandoned by her family.
Not only do the characters in That Winter, the Wind Blows experience loneliness, but they also experience emotional isolation. The story is about trust, vulnerability, and the fear of being hurt. These are the same themes found in In Your Radiant Season.

Find Me in Your Memory
Memory serves as the emotional connection in the drama Find Me in Your Memory, which features Kim Dong-wook and Moon Ga-young, and it revolves around the character of Lee Jung-hoon, who is a news anchor and possesses hyperthymesia, which means he can recall everything in his life. Contrary to Lee, there is Yeo Ha-jin, who is an actress but has forgotten some of the most important moments in her life because of the trauma she has gone through. The two met during a live broadcast event.
This is one of the most common emotional connections. One person has the weight of the memories, and the other one is related to them in one way or another, even though they do not know it. Just like in In Your Radiant Season, the meeting of these two characters serves as a healing path for each of them, where opposites not only do not fight each other, but complement each other. It is about understanding each other’s pain from two totally different views of life.
When the Weather Is Fine
There is a sense of stillness in When the Weather Is Fine, and it feels almost identical in terms of spirit. Starring Park Min-young and Seo Kang-joon, this is a drama about a cellist named Mok Hae-won who returns to her hometown in the countryside after she has had enough of the city and the pain that comes with it. Here is where she meets a quiet man named Im Eun-seob, who owns a bookstore and has been harbouring feelings for her for a long time.
Both of these dramas are fueled by simplicity. The characters are not working towards healing; they are staying in the pain and allowing warmth to seep into their lives. The focus is not on changing but finding a sense of comfort in another person who helps them find a sense of ease in staying rather than leaving.
