EXchange Season 4 Episode 10 had BTOB’s Lee Min-hyuk as the guest panellist. This episode resumed the keyword dates, starting with Yoo-sik and Hyeon-ji. She wasn’t sure if he would pick her, so when he came, a shy but bright expression on her face told it all. Their date started with drink painting, which fit her preference for hands-on activities. Later, they went to the beach, and the outing helped dissipate some of her apprehension that Yoo-sik would be too awkward or uninterested. It looked like they genuinely enjoyed the date.
When Yoo-sik finally arrived home, Ji-hyeon instantly teased him about the date. His evasion of her questions made her realise—once more—that she has always been the one interested while he rarely makes the first move. Meanwhile, Ji-yeon told Yun-nyeong about her keyword date, which was with Baek-hyun. It wasn’t bad, yet not what she wished for since she hoped for Won-kyu. Since the beginning, her interest in him was clear, so his absence left her disappointed.
Later, in Episode 10 of Transit Love Season 4, a letter came requesting that all participants declare their ages. One by one, each stated his/her real age: Baek-hyun (28), Jae-hyeong (27), Woo-jin (30), Yoo-sik (26), Won-kyu (33), Min-kyung (25), Ji-yeon (28), Yun-nyeong (26), Hyeon-ji (29), and Ji-hyeon (28).
They were asked to send an anonymous message to the person who touched their hearts that day. Won-kyu invited Ji-hyeon to the terrace at midnight, and she responded, “You are really older than me… and we clicked today again”. It clearly showed the bond between them that had been growing. Similarly, Woo-jin and Min-kyung exchanged warm messages with each other.
Yoo-sik got messages from Ji-hyeon and Hyeon-ji; he replied to Hyeon-ji over the teddy bear they painted together, even asking her out for meat. Ji-hyeon was disturbed, more so when she received a message from Jae-hyeong that he had a great time with her on their date and wanted them to draw closer to each other. Baek-hyun got a message from Yun-nyeong, asking him to use her wish card for a date, and Baek-hyun apologised for not having chosen her sooner.
This age reveal created tension for some, especially Yoo-sik and Yun-nyeong, because both women who like him are older, and Baek-hyun had said earlier that he wouldn’t date anyone younger than him. It also helped form new bonds, much like Ji-hyeon and Baek-hyun opening up toward each other as same-age friends. As the night went on, conversations, drinks, and emotional tension filled the house.
The first Ex Room of the season opened the next morning, belonging to Yoo-sik and Min-kyung’s past relationship. First into the room came Yoo-sik to read a note saying that only one of them could enter this room. Then Min-kyung received the same message. They met in the dark space separated by a curtain and spoke for ten minutes, each insisting on the other going inside. Finally, Min-kyung let him enter, asking him to think carefully.
Inside, Yoo-sik was confronted with their seven-year history: photos, letters, sneakers, and even small things he gave her that once hurt her so much. He cried, overwhelmed by how much emotional baggage he had collected over the years. A video from Min-kyung showed that their relationship started to deteriorate around the seventh year. Whenever she talked about marriage or children, Yoo-sik would either avoid the topic or say it was “still too early,” making her insecure about their future.
She wanted stability, so she broke up with him. Hearing this in Episode 10 of EXchange Season 4 ending, it again made Yoo-sik emotional, knowing that even though he has feelings, he may still be an unsatisfactory partner to her. Yoo-sik burst into tears in the Ex Room as now the chances of reconciliation look to be nil.
