Maamla Legal Hai Season 2 Review
In Netflix’s Maamla Legal Hai Season 2, we follow V.D. Tyagi as he takes up his newly appointed post as a judge. While the post looks mighty impressive on paper, in actuality, it does not seem to have much influence. In addition to following the story of our protagonist, we get entangled in various parallel stories, such as the one between Ananya and Nayana. Both women find themselves competing against each other professionally. The other parallel storyline follows Mintu and Sujata. Every episode brings out strange yet realistic cases that are hilarious but have an underlying message about the judicial system.
The aspect that I truly enjoy about season 2 of Maamla Legal Hai is that it does not attempt to innovate but rather focuses on enhancing what made it successful in the first place, which is its characters. The protagonists are not perfect and heroic figures, but fallible, bewildered, and even laughable people trying to make things right within a difficult system.
Once again, Ravi Kishan as V.D. Tyagi forms the pivot around which Netflix series Maamla Legal Hai Season 2 revolves. This time, there is an apparent change in the personality of the actor. He moves from being a rather irresponsible lawyer to becoming someone who is faced with the repercussions of his actions. The transformation in Kishan’s character comes effortlessly. While his sense of humour remains undiminished, his performance now carries a certain emotional weight that makes for some compelling drama.
Nidhi Bisht remains a consistent force as Ananya, while this season brings out some weaknesses in her character. The tension between her and Nayana, portrayed by Kusha Kapila, adds a level of fun and drama to the storyline. Even if Nayana isn’t the most unpredictable character, she offers enough contrast to complement Ananya’s characteristics. The encounters between these two characters are enjoyable since they are not very serious; there is an element of ego, ambition, and wit involved in their interactions.
To be quite honest, Anant Joshi has always been my all-time favourite. His acting is so natural that the audience instantly relates with him as a character, and no matter whether he is in awkward circumstances or simply adds some humour to the scenes, he never looks like he is working too hard at that. Likewise, Anjum Batra and Naila Grewal are both extremely charming characters, particularly in the light of their back stories receiving more emphasis this season.

The most valuable feature of Season 2 of the Maamla Legal Hai series is its cases. They are odd, unpredictable, and sometimes completely ridiculous; yet, at the same time, each one delivers a very important message. The program successfully tackles a wide variety of topics, from the violation of consumers’ rights to completely weird legal situations. Some cases are simply hilarious and make you burst into laughter; others make you think.
It is worth mentioning the style of writing, too. The conversations are witty, sharp and sometimes surprising. The funny moments don’t come out of puns but arise out of the situation and relationships. No matter how dramatic the episode may get, the show always keeps its integrity. It strikes an impeccable balance between humour and sarcasm.
However, there are instances when the character development is somewhat insufficient, particularly during the introduction of new characters. Kusha Kapila’s character, for example, might have had more emphasis put on her rather than being stereotyped as she was portrayed. Furthermore, although many situations fit precisely, there are some that seem to have ended too conveniently.
But honestly, this is just one thing that needs to be pointed out. This is merely a side issue when it comes to the captivating series. What makes this show unique is the fact that despite all its comedic elements and courtroom drama, there is an attempt to address issues of justice and morality, which affect people in real life and whom society often neglects.
Netflix Maamla Legal Hai Season 2 Review: Summing Up
By the time I was done, I realised how much I had come to care for these people, more than I imagined. The little wins, the troubles, and the funny incidents associated with them all seem to become my own at some point. That is when one realises that there is something special about the Maamla Legal Hai Season 2.
