BOYNEXTDOOR I Feel Good MV is the title track of the group’s third mini-album No Genre, and it really indicates just how far the group has progressed from the time they debuted. Having already gained huge success with their last single, I LOVE YOU (IF I SAY, I LOVE YOU), which remains a strong contender on the music charts, the rising stars of kpop are back with a new sound that is fresh but very “BOYNEXTDOOR” all the same.

This group is one of my favourites discovered in 2024. I knew they were debuting in 2023, thanks to Jaehyun, but I wasn’t giving it much attention at the time. All that changed when I heard their comeback songs in 2024. From Earth, Wind & Fire to the whole album 19.99, BOYNEXTDOOR proved that they are not another rookie group. Their music is distinct, their performances are energetic, and their songs are infectious. That’s why I was anticipating a lot from their new album No Genre. And after listening to and watching BOYNEXTDOOR I Feel Good MV, I can safely say that they’ve done it again.

What makes this track so special is the mood. The song itself is a celebration of being free, being confident, being happy, and being carefree. It’s all about doing what you want to do and living in the moment, regardless of what other people think. The moment you begin to listen, the song’s got a feel-good, upbeat kind of vibe. The rap at the beginning is fun and catchy—you’re hooked the moment you begin listening. And then the beat comes in, and before you know it, you’re ready to dance. It’s a track that you can’t help but listen to over and over again.

The lyrics are straightforward but powerful. The members talk about living life, being cool, and not letting people bring them down. They don’t need to drink or material possessions to have fun. They’re just being themselves, dancing life away like rockstars, and living their best lives. This message resonates, and it’s a breath of fresh air. At a time when everyone is vying to impress others or be perfect, BOYNEXTDOOR teaches us that it’s okay to relax and live in the moment.

Another aspect that I enjoyed about it is how every member gets to shine in the song. Whether it’s Leehan’s smooth section after the first chorus or the energy Woonhak and Taesan bring to the rap, every member brings something special. Their voices sound so great with the high-energy beat. You can tell they’re having fun singing it just as much as the audience is having fun watching them perform it. There’s also a good balance of rap and singing, and the song has so much variety despite being on the shorter side.

Now let’s talk about the music video, because that just makes it even better. The MV is colourful, vibrant, and bright. It features the boys in various fun places—a convenience store, on the city bus, in a boxing ring, even just on the street. Each shot is of a different mood, but it all somehow just works. The transitions are smooth, and the editing is quick and exciting. The camera work is clean, and the visuals are breathtaking, especially with the innovative lighting and set design.

The styling and fashion in the MV are also impressive. The members are dressed in clothes that are trendy but not too flashy. They are able to be cool and nice at the same time, which is perfect for their concept. The choreography is also enjoyable to watch and appropriate for the upbeat mood of the song. It’s not about executing sharp moves—it’s about having fun and letting the fans enjoy themselves as well.

One of the things that really amazed me is that BOYNEXTDOOR remains true to its concept. Despite the fact that I Feel Good is different from their previous title tracks, in some way, it still feels like it’s theirs. They have diverse music, but they never lose themselves. That is something not all groups can accomplish. It proves that they know what their image is, and they are okay with who they are.

Personally, I would have liked the song to be a bit longer. It ends rather abruptly, and I thought it would have benefited from a bridge or an additional chorus to round out the experience. Perhaps that’s just an indication of how much I like the song, though—it leaves you hungry for more. Regardless, it’s a small quibble compared to all the things the track gets right.

Ultimately, BOYNEXTDOOR I Feel Good demonstrates this group knows how to produce music that’s meaningful, fun, and real to their artistry. The MV provides another level of appeal, with its clever visuals and effective direction. To fans like me, this comeback is a recollection of what we adore about BOYNEXTDOOR. To new fans, it’s the best way to get introduced to the group’s own unique charm.
