Fake Profile Season 3 Review: Netflix’s Colombian crime thriller Perfil falso 3, created and directed by Pablo Illanes, returns with its final chapter, bringing back Carolina Miranda as Camila Román and Rodolfo Salas as Miguel Estévez, alongside Manuela González, Lincoln Palomeque, Iván Amozurrutia and others. The series has 10 episodes, each with a runtime of 35 to 40 minutes.
Fake Profile Season 3 Review
In Netflix’s Fake Profile Season 3, we find ourselves in the wake of all that has happened before, perhaps understating it a bit. Camila is not the hopeful girl who was desperately seeking love from behind a dating app anymore; she is now the hardened survivor of betrayal who is forever running just one step ahead. At the same time, Miguel struggles under the burden of his own complex double life and remains embroiled in every single romantic entanglement he engages in. This season will see an escalation of deceit, revenge, and manipulation on all fronts, with a distinct awareness that everyone is forever beholden to their past actions.
Previous seasons focused heavily on the “surprise element,” always pulling off a surprise for the audience. This season, however, the question is posed differently: why are these people still choosing destruction? The difference in emphasis is significant because even though the show is not becoming more subtle, the chaos does become more meaningful.
The development of Camila’s character could very well be considered among the best elements of this season. This character is no longer being driven by events around her but instead is taking control of things and making decisions, whether they are ethically correct or not. The fact that the show didn’t go out of its way to present Camila in a completely favourable light was quite refreshing for me. She isn’t easy to like or understand at times, but that makes her seem much more realistic.
On the contrary, Miguel continues to be as unpredictable as before. It’s been true from the very beginning that Miguel has always played the game with some ambiguity about being sincere or manipulative. Season 3 goes full throttle on this aspect of Miguel. At times, you are completely taken in by him and feel he has been honest all along, only to have that illusion shattered soon after and realise how risky it is to trust him.
Ángela remains one of the unsettling characters from the entire series. What stands out about this character this season is her level of control. She is not the typical villain who uses an overblown approach to get what she wants. Rather, she is cool-headed and precise, which makes her scarier. On the other hand, not all of the supporting characters receive as much attention this season as they should. The newer characters appear more like plot devices than full-fledged personalities.

When it comes to the plot, Netflix series Fake Profile Season 3 feels far more coherent than the previous ones. The twists aren’t absent, since this show is called Fake Profile, but they don’t feel as arbitrary as in the past. Rather than serving as nothing more than shock value, they’re actually based on character choices, which gives them more credibility. This is something that kept me interested throughout the show.
However, Perfil falso: Temporada 3 is not entirely free from the habit of overstating itself. There are some instances when the plot seems a little overdone, with scenes that could have been trimmed for better effect. Some arguments even appeared redundant, since they simply recycled the same emotional high points without bringing any significant change to the story. It was not enough to spoil my enjoyment, but it was noticeable enough to slow down my pace a little.
What else I observed in this Colombian series Fake Profile Season 3, is that the way the suspense is created differs from previous seasons. While the previous seasons were all about shock value, this year’s season takes it to another level by creating an atmosphere of suspense where you know something bad is going to happen soon.
Another issue I have with Season 3 of Fake Profile is that it’s not done without its secrets and misunderstandings, although these are part of the series’ core. However, there are times when this begins to become predictable, and that’s the only time the show feels old-fashioned in terms of writing. There were several other aspects where it could have gone further creatively.
Netflix Fake Profile Season 3 Review: Summing Up
Overall, Fake Profile Season 3 is a proper ending to the show. While still remaining dramatic and chaotic, it does so in a way that is much more streamlined and realistic than ever before. It hasn’t necessarily changed the formula, but it certainly knows how to play it to its strengths.
