This year’s event, hosted in Taiwan, at the Taipei Dome — the largest indoor venue in Taiwan that can accommodate about 40,000 people — is officially one of the most splendid ceremonies in Golden Disc Awards’ history. The overseas venue has also signified the seventh instance of the awards being held outside South Korea, thereby affirming K-pop’s international dominance and its swaying fanbase in the Asian continent.
The 2026 Golden Disc Awards start off with a candlelighting ceremony and a video tribute to four decades of musical greatness, which sets the mood for an evening dedicated to music’s universal power over time. The atmosphere portrayed by the video is one of positive impact across generations. The presenters of the milestone event are singer Sung Si-kyung and actress Moon Ga-young. This year, it is the tenth time for Si-kyung to serve as a Master of the Ceremony for the Golden Disc Awards, while Ga-young is coming back for the second time. Together, they will be conducting the celebrations of the evening with familiarity and warmth.
The awards ceremony gets underway with a surprise entrance by ZEROBASEONE’s Sung Han-bin and Zhang Hao—doing a classy cover of BoA’s Better. Clad in white and burgundy suits opposite each other, the pair’s act crosses ages, giving respect to a K-pop legend while highlighting the coming of new stars.
Then, the Rookie boy band CORTIS comes to the Golden Disc Awards 2026 night with an electrifying performance of What You Want, choreographed around treadmills, instantly making a powerful first impression.

The Taipei Dome keeps getting better with the performance lineup of the 40th Golden Disc Awards 2026. ALLDAY PROJECT presents an electrifying series of songs, consisting of Famous, Look At Me, and One More Time, while the venue’s acoustics increase the effect of their live vocals. KiiiKiii presents a powerful stage next, which goes from Groundwork to an EDM-driven I Do Me, the crowd reacting strongly to it.
The special Powerhouse 40 segment remembers the artists who have been the main characters in popular music history. TWS is the first to open the stage with a moving cover of BTS’s Spring Day, while izna honours JYP with a rendition of Wonder Girls’ Be My Baby. Also, veteran newcomer Zo Zazz gets the attention with a smooth version of Don’t You Know, thus showing the range of talent that has been awarded this year.
